Each month, Brighthand publishes a list of the most popular handhelds and smartphones. This report is compiled based on the number of views each product page receives, so every time someone clicks on a product they’re giving it a vote in these monthly rankings.

This listing doesn’t necessarily indicate which models are the best selling, just which ones Brighthand readers are most interesting in learning more about during the preceding four weeks.

1. Samsung Omnia i900 (Previously #2) – While this smartphone runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro, Samsung has added its fingertip-friendly TouchWiz user interface. This smartphone has either either 8 GB or 16 GB of storage and a 5-megapixel camera. It is a quad-band GSM phone with 3G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, but Verizon has recently introduced a CDMA version with EV-DO. Read a Review
2. RIM BlackBerry Storm 9530 (New) – The Storm is the first BlackBerry with a touchscreen. This is genuinely the centerpiece of the device, as it is also the first BlackBerry without a built-in keyboard. 3. RIM BlackBerry Curve 8300 (Previously #4) – The BlackBerry Curve was created in 2007 for consumers and business people who wanted a BlackBerry with a full keyboard in a sleeker-looking package. The 8300 is the version of this device for GSM networks. Read a Review
4. Apple iPod touch (Previously #6) – In some respects the iPod touch can be thought of as being an iPhone without the phone. It features the same touch-based interface as Apple’s smartphone, includes the same on-screen QWERTY keyboard, and can run applications written for the iPhone. Read a Review
5. RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8100 (Previously #8) – The Original Pearl has been around for two years, and qualifies as a classic. It was the first of a new generation of slimmer, more consumer-friendly BlackBerries. This quad-band phone has a SureType keyboard, a microSD card slot, and a 1.3 MPx camera. Read a Review
6. Nokia E71 (Previously #7) – The Nokia E71 is a Symbian S60 smartphone with a 320-by-240-pixel QVGA screen and QWERTY keyboard in a body that is only 10mm thick. 9. HTC Touch Diamond (Previously #3) – This Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone is an upgraded version of the very popular HTC Touch. It has HTC’s new finger-friendly interface, 3G, a VGA display, 4 GB of on-board storage, Wi-Fi, and a 3-megapixel camera. There are both GSM and CDMA versions of this device. Read a Review
10. LG Incite (New) - The LG Incite has the distinction of being the first smartphone from LG released by a major U.S. wireless carrier. It runs the latest version of Microsoft’s Windows Mobile, and includes a wQVGA touchscreen, 3G, and Wi-Fi. Read a Review
