T-Mobile to release “multiple” Android devices this year
It’s no secret that T-Mobile has some grand Android-based plans after the million-selling success of the G1, and although we’ve heard sketchy reports of future devices to come, it sounds like things are starting to firm up: CTO Cole Brodman told GigaOm yesterday that the carrier is planning to launch “multiple” Android devices from “three partners” later this year. One of those is pretty obviously the HTC Magic / Sapphire / myTouch, but that’s just the tip of the potential iceberg here — we’ve got a feeling that the Samsung I7500 “Houdini” will be involved, the G1 v2 is certainly interesting, there’s that mysterious Huawei set we saw at MWC, and hell, we’ve even got reports of netbooks, tablets, and home phones in the mix. That’s a lot of directions Timmy-O can go, any predictions?

HTC Magic Available from 1st May!
More early releases! The HTC Magic will be available on Vodafone UK from this Friday, 1st May! The handset was due to be released in the middle of April, but was postponed to 5th May, but it looks like the date has once again changed, in the right direction this time. The 5th would thus appear to have been a safety net for Vodafone, giving themselves enough time to make sure they could get the handset out. Pocket-lint has it that a Vodafone spokeperson confirme that pre-orders will be fulfilled within the next few days.
The Magic is the first Android handset to be launched this year and only the second Android handset to come to market after the initial G1 offering on T-Mobile. Samsung will be releasing their Android powered I7500, which we posted exclusive pictures of yesterday, and are rumoured to have another two Android handsets awaiting release this year.

HTC Magic tentatively dated for May 5 in the UK

HTC’s second Android device Magic was due for a launch in the UK last week, but was delayed till an unknown date to make a few modifications under the hood. Earlier today, the Vodafone Website was updated and it looks like May 5 is the tentative launch date for the Magic in the UK and not May 1. (I wonder if Cupcake will rollout by then.) I won’t begin to dissect the pricing plans that ye folk have to deal with across the pond, but the Magic is free.
